Addmaster Supports UK Recycling

Addmaster has confirmed its commitment to supporting UK recycling by becoming a member of a major industry association.

The leading supplier of technically innovative additives for the plastics, textiles, paper, paints and coating industries, Addmaster has been accepted as an associate member of the Recycling Association.

Paul Morris, CEO and founder of Addmaster, believes it is the responsibility of all companies to maximise recycling procedures. He said: “Recycling and the environmental impact of products is such an important issue for the global consumer and manufacturers alike. As an international company which works across a range of industries we feel it is important to be part of an organisation that campaigns for sensible and practical solutions.

Addmaster produces a range of additives which are incorporated into products at the manufacturing stage.

Its antimicrobial Biomaster product inhibits the growth of dangerous bacteria, fungi and moulds, reducing opportunities for cross-contamination.

Addmaster recently extended its antibacterial ‘bag for life’ range on the UK high street with a new stylish cool bag featuring antibacterial Biomaster technology developed with partner B&G Products. This bag maintains hot food at a good temperature and keeps chilled or frozen products cold, while reducing the growth of harmful bacteria between shopping trips.

Peter Ralten, Commercial Director for B&G explains: “The bag has been manufactured without the use of mixed materials making it fully recyclable after its long life.

Verimaster security technology secures the integrity of a manufacturer’s brand through the recognition of authenticity and the instant detection of fake ones.

Furthermore, Addmaster’s Scentmaster additive can be used in a range of applications such as washroom products, waste bin liners and food and beverage packaging, as well as offering technology to mask unwanted odours.

Simon Ellin, chief executive of the Recycling Association, said “We are delighted to welcome Addmaster into our organisation. Our Quality First campaign for better recycling has focussed on supply chain responsibility. Right at the top of the supply chain, we are calling on manufacturers and retailers to produce less materials, so any technology that facilitates re-use - such as the possibility of antibacterial reusable coffee cups - is welcomed. Addmaster has a brilliant product range that meets our objectives and will contribute to our aims of promoting greater producer responsibility.
