Showcase For Wild Bird Hygiene Features Biomaster Technology

In a year when the community stayed at home, gardens became more important than ever. For many people, wild birds helped brighten those days.

Glee 2021, the UK’s leading garden and outdoor living trade show, makes a welcome return after a two year hiatus presenting the latest in wild bird care technology.

Among the innovative products showcased are the Biomaster protected Gardman Black Steel range of easy to use durable metal feeders for various seed, nut and suet feeds providing a more hygienic way to feed wild birds.

Standard bird feeders can be potentially life threatening for garden wildlife as they are breeding grounds for many types of harmful bacteria.

Recognising the need to improve the cleanliness and hygiene of bird feeders in order to reduce mortality rates in the garden bird population, Westland has incorporated Biomaster antimicrobial technology into their product to inhibit the growth of the harmful microbes.

The addition of Biomaster provides the ‘clean between clean’ that can help to reduce the risk of transmission. Biomaster is effective against most strains of common bacteria, is completely safe and works 24/7 for the lifetime of the product. The coating is also resistant to rain and detergents.

Westland Brand manager Kirk Rothwell explains: “It’s important that we try to help protect our UK garden bird population. We want the wild birds that visit our in gardens to stay healthy so they keep coming back. Biomaster antimicrobial technology gives our Gardman bird feeders a competitive edge by making them more hygienic.”
